Soul Embodied Integration

where soma meets the sacred - holistic guidance for mind-body-soul healing

Catarina Flores, M.A. is a freelance writer and holistic practitioner. As a soul nutritionist, creative vessel, and lifetime student of Earth-based wisdom traditions, her work is centered on body-mind-soul integration, supporting clients to reclaim and embody their creativity, resilience, and truest essence.

Hey you, I’m Cata.

In my somatic & transpersonal sessions, I offer a safe and sacred sanctuary for you to feel held, seen, understood, and witnessed. Not just through dialogue, but also the body’s story.

I see the psyche and body as unique road maps to be uncovered and discovered - guiding you closer to your essence.

My personal healing journey began 15 years ago when yoga, mindfulness, and meditation entered my life.

Studying Hatha, Vinyassa, and Iyengar yoga in India was my first glimpse into embodied presence and spirituality. The breath became a vessel for a greater life force to move through me. It fed the thing I had been yearning for all along: soul.

Road to Soul Embodiment:

Born in Brazil and raised in the United States, I often found myself navigating the in-between. A sense of displacement that left me feeling neither here nor there. Wondering, where is home? Where do I belong?

Perhaps you’ve felt the same way: an ache to belong, to feel seen, and accepted by others.

It wasn’t until my travels to indigenous villages in various parts of the world that this need for belonging was fed.

Being immersed in other cultures also inspired me to honor the mixed ancestral threads of my Brazilian heritage. I began to embrace the in-between.

Spending time with locals in Ghana and Nepal stretched the edges of how I see life today - awakening a soul’s eye view.

Community, dance, laughter, and elders were ever-present, honored, and revered in these cultures.

Above all, their sacred bond to the Earth was unwavering. Though they were materially impoverished, they were rich in spirit.

Spending time in other cultures has taught me that true richness doesn’t come from material possessions, but rather, a deep connection to community, the Earth, and sacred traditions.

I couldn’t help but notice the stark contrast between these cultures and the West. While material comforts are easy to access, many Westerners are spiritually malnourished.

I’ve seen it show up as chronic stress, burnout, addictions, isolation, and never feeling quite…enough.

I began to recognize that the epidemic in our world isn’t just physical or psychological.

…It’s spiritual, too.

I believe this soul hunger is rooted in a chronic disconnection and sense of separation.

Soul hunger is a cry for presence and connection. Connection with yourself, others, the natural world, and the unseen.

Because connection is the wellspring of wealth.

And when you nurture and tend to the body, mind, and soul, transformation begins.

“ Trauma is not what happens to us but what we hold inside in the absence of an empathetic witness.” -

Dr. Peter Levine, PhD.

Soul Recovery:

My healing journey deepened when I began to experience autoimmune symptoms. Living with the daily challenges of chronic pain, life often felt foggy and limiting to my young adventure spirit.

When Western doctors offered little to no solution for my rheumatoid arthritis, I sought insight and healing in holistic practices like acupuncture, herbalism, body work, family constellations therapy, somatic therapies, soul retrieval, and other Earth-centered traditions.

I gradually discovered that my autoimmune symptoms were a result of years of complex trauma. The chronic survival stress, unresolved hurts of the past, and unprocessed grief had impacted my health.

Through this journey, I’ve learned that pain is a pathway to purpose. And grief is the door to that path. Pain is a lot like a check engine light — nudging us to listen to what’s happening beneath the surface.

And pain isn’t meant to be met all at once, either. But when you meet it gradually - layer by layer - you release what’s gotten in the way of you and your soul’s truth.

Transcending trauma hasn’t been about fixing what’s broken. But rather listening, integrating, and retrieving the parts that have felt disconnected and fragmented.

While the mind often forgets old traumas, the body remembers. My pain became my soul’s compass. It has guided me (and still guides me) through deep grief work, altered states of consciousness (ASC) experiences, and the vast healing library of traditional Amazonian medicine.

My healing journey has inspired my mission: to support others on their soul journey - through somatic trauma resolution and transpersonal wisdom.

Today, I’m dedicated to helping guide others through their complex traumas, the day-to-day stressors, life transitions, psychosomatic, and psychospiritual growth to cultivate a deeper sense of wholeness, embodied presence, and resilience.

Where Artistry Meets Healing:

Creativity is a powerful bridge. Between the seen and the unseen. The conscious and unconscious. And most of all, a bridge to that little one inside of you: your inner child.

For me, creativity has always been a source of safety and nourishment. Singing, dancing, writing, and poetry were my refuge and safe haven growing up.

… The soul speaks through the creative tongue — through images, symbols, songs, and dreams.

Creative expression— in a therapeutic container— isn’t about artistic talent. It’s not learned or earned. But rather, remembered.

It’s your birthright.

And a pathway for reflection, release, and healing.

I’ve been carrying some old traumas that I needed and wanted to address. In and after my somatic sessions with Cata, I felt more in myself, and more engaged with my environment and others. She is compassionate and kind in her approach, while also direct - which helped us stay on track in my sessions with her. These sessions, all in all, have been deeply inspiring and healing for me.” Jaimie Lily
